You can view the memorandum here, released by DHEC: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deleteapathy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Kiawah-Development-Partners-LLC-2015-00516-1G.pdf\">Kiawah Development Partners LLC (2015-00516-1G).pdf<\/a>. It states that the community dock denied permit by DHEC &#8220;is for the recreational use of the future property owners of the six homes sites&#8221; on Little Eagle Island, Seabrook Island.<\/p>\n<p>Kiawah Development Partners are the same folks who have been pushing the construction of homes on the nearby <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deleteapathy.com\/?cat=6\" target=\"_blank\">Captain Sams Spit<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a good win against improper development of our coast because &#8220;DHEC is absolutely correct in its denial&#8221; of the permit, according to Katie Zimmerman of the Coastal Conservation League, who &#8220;submitted a several-page long letter outlining all of the regulations this proposal violated.&#8221; Thank you to all the local activists who submitted their objections as well and support the work of the Coastal Conservation League.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A small victory for the protection of the South Carolina coast happened on December 8th, 2015.
