Wild Predator Invasion

Introducing predators into the wild was covered in our last post. In NOVA’s Wild Predator Invasion (aired 4/2/14), scientists have stunning success bringing wolves to Yellowstone National Park where they had been eliminated, panthers to Florida for added gene diversity, and restoration to trophic systems is considered in general. As a warning, the introduction of non-native rabbits for hunting and cane toads for pest control in Australia is shown to be a failure. This video further explores the threats humans face when encountering top-level predators.
