Our home in Charleston, SC is at great risk due to climate change

The blog ThinkProgress.org highlighted the uneven impacts of across the United States in their May 7th article, “The Southeast U.S. Has Had More Billion-Dollar Disasters Than The Rest Of The Country Combined”. The Obama administration’s National Climate Assessment was just released, showing that the Southeast and Caribbean are vulnerable in nearly every realm where we see climate change happening, facing threats from “sea level rise, extreme heat events, hurricanes, and decreased water availability.”

The following art piece, posted by the Sierra Club, illustrates the difficulties inherent in implementing policy that will guide much needed change. This sculpture by Issac Cordal in Berlin is called “Politicians discussing global warming.”
